*Excuse our phones as our wires went a bit witchy today!
We talk to JoEllen Erickson about this fabulous non profit highlighting and donating to other non profits!
From the "Witches" website these are the rules
"Saturday, October 2nd to raise money for The Family Pantry of Cape Cod! Event will be held at Oyster Pond in Chatham.
$50 registration fee and a fundraising minimum of $250 for each paddler. 100% of your donation will go to The Family Pantry of Cape Cod.
Join us for multiple drawings for various items, a SUP raffle, Sunny Side Down food truck, and a whole bunch of witches on paddleboards. Stephanie Viva of X1023 will DJ the event with music and announcements. All paddlers will be part of a costume contest.
North Chatham Outfitters has generously donated a Stand Up Paddleboard for us to raffle.
100% of donations and item purchases that day will be donated to The FPCC.
Check in is at 1:00, Paddle Parade begins at 2:00. You will be directed where to drop your boards and parking is free!
There will be a police detail, an EMT on site and Harbor Master on the water.
A bit of SUP experience is recommended.
All paddlers MUST wear a life vest and a board leash by order of the Harbor Master. There are no exceptions to this rule. You can purchase life vests at North Chatham Outfitters and Pump House Surf and Paddle in Orleans.
We do have a few boards to loan out, courtesy of Pump House Surf and Paddle, if you need one. Please reach out to info@witchesonthewater.org if you are interested in using one.
Please be your own skills judge. There is no shame in getting on your knees to paddle if the wind gets to be too much!
There is no rain date scheduled for this event. If the event is cancelled due to weather, all money collected after costs are covered will go to The Family Pantry of Cape Cod.
Event ends at 4:00 PM
This is such a magical event. We can not express the joy this witch paddle brings to us all. We sincerely hope you will join us in paddling or come to watch.
