They also discuss momentum versus tactical investing. Momentum investing is buying when the stock price is going up and selling when it is going down. Tactical investing places clients into a strategic asset allocation based on risk preference. Since buying stocks is taking ownership in a company, AMR suggests investing based on the value of the company vs. the intrinsic value.
